Story Links ANCHORAGE, Ak. – The Drake University men’s basketball team is set to play the first of three games at the GCI Great Alaska Shootout on Nov. 24 at 8:30 p.m. CST. The Bulldogs open up competition in Anchorage against Iona on CBS Sports Network.The Bulldogs travel to Alaska with a 1-2 record after defeating Simpson College, 76-61, on Nov. 19. Iona, which is coming off of an NCAA appearance, is 0-2 on the season with road losses to Florida State and Nevada. Senior forward Jordan Washington leads the Gaels with 22.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. The Gaels are averaging 77.0 points per game this season after averaging nearly 80 points per game last season. Drake is making its second appearance in the Great Alaska Shootout and its third all-time trip to Alaska. The Bulldogs went 1-2 in the 2010 Great Alaska Shootout and were 1-2 in the 2006 Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks. Under head coach Ray Giacoletti, the Bulldogs are 5-4 in exempt tournament events with one tournament title in 2013 at the Fresno State Classic.
