He will read poetry from his new original spoken-word poetry album, Make It Real.Gaskill is best known for his roles on Guiding Light, As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, Port Charles, All My Children and Models, Inc.He is currently starring in the Webisoap The Bay: Dark Side of the Bay, airing worldwide this summer.Singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist George Wirth also will perform. Visitors will be able to see how this day might have been celebrated in the home of Loyalists Edward and John Taylor. Historical re-enactors dressed as the Taylors will welcome the guests.Musical entertainment of the period, played on the harpsichord and recorder, will be presented by The Practitioners of Musick with John Burkhalter of Princeton.The earliest section of Marlpit Hall was built as a one-and-a-half story house in 1686 by James Grover Jr. John Taylor made substantial additions and alterations between 1740 – 1752. Members of the Grover and Taylor families were among the area’s leading politicians, farmers, and merchants.Light refreshments will be served and admission is free.RED BANKThe Red Bank Elks Lodge No. 233 will host its inaugural Elks Casino Night and Poker Tournament from 6 – 11 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at 40 West Front St.Casino tickets are $50 per person and includes casino games, live music by DJ Joe McGrath and dinner. Youngsters, ages 9 and younger, will be doing a 75-yard swim, a 2.25-mile bike ride and a half-mile run.Pre-registration is available until June 1 and is $35. Space is limited.The Kids Tri for Bob Kelleher race is being held in the memory of Kelleher, a Rumson resident who died unexpectedly in July 2009. He had been very active in sports, including participating in triathlons and coaching his son and borough children on recreation department teams, and was the captain in the Rumson First Aid Squad when he died.Proceeds from the June 10 event will benefit the Rumson First Aid Squad and the borough’s recreation program.last_img
